The Aqara Hub M2 is the most advanced one in the Aqara range. The Hub M2 uses Zigbee 3.0 and can connect up to 128 smart Zigbee devices to realize your smart home. The Hub M2 also has a built-in IR transmitter that allows you to automate non-Zigbee devices such as your TV or air conditioner. The built-in speaker makes sure that the M2 Hub can also be used as a doorbell gong or alarm siren. The Hub M2 can also be operated via  HomeKit or the Aqara Home app. The connection to the internet can be either wired or wireless and the Hub M2 provides power through the included Micro USB cable. This is the official European version with CE approval and meets the legal requirements. Besides security, this also ensures that when you want to connect the Hub M2 to Xiaomi's servers, this happens with the European servers and not those in China.
